High-performance curtain walling for a landmark commercial development in Colombo

Access Tower is a prominent commercial development in Colombo, Sri Lanka, recognised for its contemporary architecture and distinctive curved glass façade.
The façade execution and aluminium curtain walling were completed using AluK’s SL60 curtain wall system. Delivered in collaboration with AluK India and the Middle East team, the system enabled the creation of a clean, uninterrupted glazed elevation that complements the building’s strong architectural form.

Project Overview

The architecture of Access Tower is defined by its sweeping curved elevation, expansive glazing, and commanding urban presence. The curtain wall system plays a central role in shaping the building’s identity, creating a modern exterior while maintaining visual consistency across its complex geometry.

Careful coordination was required to integrate the aluminium framing and glazed panels with the structure’s rounded façade and vertical architectural elements.

Our Scope

Façade Solution

The project utilised the AluK SL60 curtain wall system, selected for the building’s extensive glazed elevations.

The system helped achieve:

• A refined exterior suited to a premium commercial environment

Design and Execution Approach

The curtain walling was executed to emphasise the tower’s distinctive form while maintaining uniformity across the façade.
The curved glazed section creates a strong focal point, contrasting elegantly with the lighter solid elevations surrounding it. The result is a balanced architectural composition that gives the property a recognisable and sophisticated commercial identity.

Architectural Impact

The completed façade enhances the tower’s prominence within Colombo’s urban landscape. Its expansive blue glazing reflects the surrounding sky and environment, adding visual depth while reinforcing the building’s modern character.
Through precise curtain wall execution and careful system integration, Access Tower achieves an exterior that feels both structurally confident and architecturally refined.
